The WSET Level 2 Award in Wines course is aimed at enthusiastic individuals with some knowledge of wines but who want to know more, or those already in or looking to get into the wine or hospitality industry.

The course runs for 6 Monday evenings (3/2, 10/2, 17/2, 24/2, 9/3 & 16/3) from 7:00PM until 9:45PM. Final assessment will be through an externally set and marked 50 question multiple choice examination (1 hour) which will be taken during the final session. It is expected that delegates undertake their own private study throughout the course to back up the topics covered in the sessions. We set homework tasks and provide appropriate examination-style questions for you to test your learning.
Although the course is ‘classroom based’ it is presented in a fun, informal style with lots of emphasis on participation. It’s not a lecture! You’ll gain knowledge of the principal and regionally important grape varieties of the world, the regions in which they are grown, and the styles of wine they produce. Through a combination of tasting and theory, you’ll explore the factors that impact style and quality and learn how to describe these wines with confidence. Students are also taught how to taste wine professionally using the WSET Systematic Approach to Tasting. Each session will be supported by relevant tasting samples and at least 24 different wines will be tasted throughout the course!
The Level 2 course is an internationally regarded course. It’s ideal for those with the Level 1 qualification but this is not a specific requirement; anyone can start at this level, you just need to be enthusiastic about wine!
The price includes WSET registration, exam entry fees, official WSET Study Guide including textbook, and all wines for tasting.
This is a great course for all abilities and leads into the higher WSET Level 3 and Diploma courses. It could even lead to you becoming a Master of Wine!
